I bought this product a couple years ago and only use it when I travel by air.
It’s ok in reducing the airline noise, but not entirely, approx 60%.
My main complaint about this product is it’s durability, the last time I took it out of the case to use it, the adjustable head band fell apart in my hands. I expected better quality from Bose but I guess they are like everyone else these days, a throw away mentality. The worst part is they don’t repair anything out of warranty they want you to spend another $100 – $150, depending on model, in exchange for a new one. So I feel trapped with their product I can’t repair it and I don’t want a new one but it’s my only choice.
I was considering buying their surround sound unit, but not now, in fact it’s the last, overpriced, Bose product I will ever buy

This is not a rating of the actual Bose QC15 that I bought through Amazon. I am writing this to express my dissatisfaction with Amazon and their inability to deliver this product within a reasonable timeframe. First of all, let me mention that I am a “Prime” Amazon customer. Those of you who know what “Prime” service is, you know that we pay ~ $90 per year for this service and one of the benefits is 2-day shipping. Unfortunately, it took 8 days. Normally I would just fluff it off and accept the poor delivery service, but I desperately needed the headset for a long trip I was taking the following Sunday. I ordered it on Sun, Nov 22 and it arrived 8 days later on Mon, Nov 30, so I did not have the headset for my trip. In defense of Amazon, this item was 3rd-party-sold and they shipped it via UPS and apparently they do not honor “Prime” policy (so, beware that Amazon uses 3rd party companies who have no responsibility to follow the “Prime” rules). I tracked my package through UPS and saw that it was sitting in my local UPS center on Weds, Nov 25. I called UPS and they told me it was not scheduled to be delivered until Mon, Nov 30 because of Thanksgiving on Thurs, Nov 26. I asked if they could deliver it on Saturday, but they told me it was shipped via ground and they do not deliver ground items on Saturday. I pleaded with UPS to let me come and pick it up but they would not allow that.
MY BOTTOM LINE RECOMMENDATION: If you want to purchase a Bose Headset, don’t buy it from Amazon, go to your local Best Buy Store and buy it directly. You’ll have it in less than 1 day, rather than having to wait 8 days.

I bought the Bose headphones about 5 years ago – for $300. After about a year of occasional use, the plastic just above the ear cups cracked. I attempted to fix the problem with some high powered glue, and the plastic just disintegrated after that. A phone call to Bose elicited no response. I finally went out on their web page and described my experience. I got an email before the day was out offering to replace them. I packaged the phones up in a box with all the required documentation and sent them off. Never heard another word.
The phones may be nice, but they are very cheaply made for the price. Also, I wouldn’t give you a nickle for their customer service. I’m left with a $300 hole in my pocket. I will not be purchasing another product from Bose – for any price!

I have currently 3 noise cancelling headphones. (Logitec and Audio-Technica)
I needed a new pair within hours of going on a boating trip and, OK, I bought the pain directly from Bose store.
The positive:
- very good noise cancelling, better than others
-very comfortable
-gold contacts
-1 AAA battery
The negative:
-very weird gothic proprietary design of the cable
It prevents you to buy off the shelf cable different length or whatever
(If I am wrong I will withdraw my negative rating)

I recently tried out the Bose 15s on a long transatlantic flight because the guy next to me had a pair, and compared it to the Sony noise-cancelling earbuds that came with my Sony MP3 player on the spot.
No comparison—the Sony not only blocked out more noise and was much more comfortable to wear, but the sound quality was far better. Even the Bose owner had to admit it, and thanked me for giving him the opportunity because he was still within his 30-day return policy. He was already leaning towards returning them because he said that he experienced uncomfortable ear pressure with them, and didn’t like that you have to turn them on wasting battery power even when you’re using them at home as passive headphones.
All of Bose’s audio products have the same problem: a totally unnatural sound consisting of exaggerated bass, tinny highs and weak midrange. They might be passable if you only listen to thumping rap/techno/rock, but for vocal-dominated music, or classical or jazz, Bose is frankly abysmal…and you don’t have to be an audiophile to notice that, it’s readily apparent with just a few simple side by side comparisons.
The kicker: For the price of these headphones, you could buy at least two of the noise-cancelling Sony MP3 models that I have. Earbuds being more compact are also much better suited for travelling…I couldn’t imagine lugging one of these bulky things around.
